Marine bunker trading, brokerage & supply coordination · Port of Singapore
Trading & brokerage
Competitive marine fuel sourcing, clear contracting and hands-on coordination for shipowners, charterers, vessel operators and international bunker traders.
A bunker broker in Singapore connects a buyer with suitable MPA-licensed physical suppliers, manages offers and confirmations, and is paid for arranging the deal. A bunker trader sells the fuel to the buyer and buys it from a physical supplier, taking a commercial position in the contract chain. SingaporeBunker.com works in both roles, and we tell you which one applies before you confirm a stem.
The contracting structure matters. It decides whose general terms and conditions apply, who invoices you, who carries the credit risk, and who you claim against if the fuel is off-specification or short-delivered. Too many disputes start because a buyer was not clear whether they were dealing with a broker, a trader or the physical supplier itself. We put that in writing on every offer.
Two roles
Brokerage
We act as intermediary. The contract for supply is between you and the physical supplier, on the supplier’s terms. We identify suitable licensed suppliers, obtain and compare offers, negotiate on your behalf, confirm the stem and support the parties through delivery and documentation.
Trading
We sell the fuel to you and buy it from a licensed physical supplier. You contract with us, and we manage the back-to-back arrangement with the supplier. This can simplify credit, invoicing and multi-port arrangements for buyers who prefer one counterparty.
In both roles the fuel is delivered by an MPA-licensed bunker supplier and bunker craft operator, which issues the bunker delivery note. SingaporeBunker.com does not present itself as a physical supplier.

Working with buyers
Shipowners and ship managers buying for their own fleet use us to widen the supplier panel at Singapore, keep a consistent record of purchases and specifications, and get help when a delivery raises questions. Owner specifications, such as a maximum density, a minimum flash point or restrictions on certain blend components, are written into each enquiry.
Time charterers are usually responsible for providing and paying for bunkers under the charter party. Their fuel must meet the owner’s specification in the charter party bunker clause, often stated as a particular ISO 8217 edition and grade. We make sure the offer matches that clause, because a charterer who supplies off-spec fuel can face a claim from the owner.
Vessel operators running tight port rotations value speed and reliability: the right barge at the right time so the vessel is not delayed. We keep the supplier informed of ETA changes and work with the agent on delivery timing.
International bunker traders without a team in Singapore use us to source physical supply and coordinate delivery for their own customers. We work under clear back-to-back terms, and we are discreet about the end buyer.
Bunker prices in Singapore move with the oil market through the day. We do not publish indicative prices that you cannot actually buy at. Each offer is priced for the specific stem and is valid for a stated period. Where we act as broker, the basis of our remuneration is agreed upfront. Where we act as trader, our price is the price on the offer.

Look for a broker who works with several MPA-licensed physical suppliers, states clearly whether they are acting as broker or trader, and can show you the delivering supplier before you confirm. You can send an enquiry to SingaporeBunker.com through our quotation form.
A broker arranges the deal between buyer and physical supplier, and the supply contract is between those two parties. A trader buys from the supplier and resells to the buyer, so the buyer contracts with the trader. The difference affects terms, credit, invoicing and claims.
Most work through a Singapore-based counterpart who sources from local licensed suppliers, handles the nomination and keeps the supplier, agent and vessel informed. We provide that role under back-to-back terms.
Charterers send the vessel, ETA, location, quantity and the specification required by the charter party bunker clause. We obtain offers that meet that specification and confirm the stem in the charterer’s name.
In a brokered deal, the physical supplier’s terms normally apply. In a traded deal, the trading entity’s terms apply. The applicable terms are identified on each offer.
Tell us the vessel, ETA, grade and quantity. We will tell you who can deliver it, on what terms, and in which role we are acting.
