Most disputes over quantity or quality are decided by evidence gathered at the time of delivery: the meter readings, the sounding records, the samples and the signatures on the bunker delivery note. The buyer appoints an independent bunker surveying company licensed by the MPA, usually through their trader, broker or agent, and informs the supplier in advance. The surveyor attends the delivery, checks measurements and documentation, witnesses sampling and reports to the buyer.

Where can bunker samples be tested in Singapore?

Bunker samples can be tested by independent fuel testing laboratories with facilities in Singapore. We arrange collection and testing against the relevant ISO 8217 specification and pass the report to you.
